Join us for a wild adventure at Horseshoe Common with lots of outdoor family friendly fun. An unforgettable day of exploration, community and sustainable experiences awaits.  Bringing you fun, educational activities, by partnering with local & national wildlife charities.

Chloe's Mobile Farm

Are coming to provide fun, educational, and therapeutic petting experiences with farm animals. Come and enjoy at Horseshoe. Limited availability so booking is essential!
 

Workshops

Find a variety of workshops to entertain your little ones. Get creative with plant pot painting, explore a bug hotel, and learn to create a bird feeder. We do advise you to arrive early!
 

Activities

Enjoy FREE face painting throughout the day and a zog trail through the woods with a map provided. On your return, there will be a music wall, a giant games area and a chill out area for those with sensory needs. 

Pause Cat Cafe

We are colapurrating with Pause Cat Cafe to offer you two children's workshops where they can interact with the kitties while the parent relax and can enjoy a mug of coffee. Head to their website for full details and how to book.

Beryl

We're excited to be teaming up with Beryl who are offering everyone a 10% discount on rides in the following locations. Dean Park Road, Horseshoe Common and Turtle Bay. Discount applies if your ride starts or ends in the locations stated above.

National Trust

Bringing their own experience in wildlife, we will have a representative from the trust with their own activities to get you hooked on nature itself. Explore all you can do with the National Trust.

Interactive Zog Trail

We’re bringing you this exciting outdoor children’s activity to engage with throughout the day. A zog trail through the woods of Horseshoe Common to explore the outdoors! 

 

You can find your trail packs at our welcome desk where you will find lots off goodies including glasses and dragon wings. Use them to try and find what the stars spell out.

 

Once you find the word, scan the QR code and enter the letter on the form on this page to be in with a chance of winning a family ticket for national forest wildlife park as a prize!

Interactive Zog trail mystery word

Chloe's Mobile Farm

We're excited to announce the arrival of Chloe's Mobile Farm at Horseshoe Common, where they'll be bringing their rescued animals for your enjoyment. With great variety available, you can come and pet each animal and learn more about them and how to look after them. This activity is FREE, however you must book in advance as they have limited availability throughout the day. 

All slots must be pre-booked

Bug Hotel + Bird Feeder Workshop

An exciting opportunity to help build a large-scale bug habitat using only natural materials. Work together with other participants to create a welcoming environment for beneficial insects, fostering biodiversity and ecological balance. Craft your own natural and eco-friendly bird feeder to take home. Make your bird feeder from a range of bird-friendly food options free from harmful additives.

Plant pot workshop

Participate in our plant pot workshop where you can decorate your own pot, then take home seeds from Cherry Tree Nursery to nurture and grow! Join us for a creative and green-fingered experience that's perfect for nature lovers of all ages.

Zog Trail

Join us for an exciting adventure at Horseshoe Common on May 11th as we host the Zog Activity Trail! Embark on a journey through the common, collecting letters from stars along the way to complete the trail. It's a fun-filled opportunity to explore, learn, and engage with the outdoors.

Time: 11:00AM - 4:00PM

Pause Cat Cafe

Head to Pause Cafe to take part in interactive  cat themed workshops. Book through their website to secure your place. 

£5 per person (payable for both children and adults) with yummy food and drinks available. 

All children must be accompanied by adults

Time: 11:00 - 11:30AM; 12:00 - 12:30PM

Face Painting

Wild Wonders is bringing FREE face painting to Horseshoe Common so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to add a touch of magic to your day with beautiful face designs.

Time: 11:00AM - 4:00PM

Based in North Wiltshire, Chloe’s Mobile Farm has a strong belief that everyone should have access to animals as much can be learnt from them. Their animals are rescues or have found their way to them and their welfare is at the centre of their priorities.

Mr Fothergill's has become one of the most successful seed companies in the UK and carries a range that has a wider seed choice than any other company in the UK.
We have received a kind donation of 200 packets of seeds that will be used in our plant pot workshop.

El Murino will be bringing their food truck to our event, so you can enjoy delicious fresh wood fired Italian pizza! 

With a passion for great pizzas, be sure to check them out when you need a rest from all activities. 

As Europe’s largest conservation charity, they look after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. They protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. They do this through the help of members, volunteers staff and donors! 

We are honoured to have them attending our event to do workshops and educate you on the importance of wildlife convesation.

They help the Dorset community to use scrap resources for creative purposes, and are amazed by the creativity of the community! 

We are using Dorset scrap store to maintain our sustainability goals, including using our zog trails that were donated by Forrestry England.

Through the use of therapeutic horticulture, Cherry Tree Nursery helps to restore mental wellbeing, and give purpose to people’s lives. They are a Charity providing meaningful occupation in a supportive environment, aiming to restore well-being to people with mental illness. 

We sourced our materials for the workshops through their website, supporting the important work that they do.
